1. What’s parking air conditioner?

 

Parking air conditioning (also known as parking cooler/ electric cabinet air conditioner) refers to battery powered air conditioner, consuming electricity from the vehicle battery (DC 12V/24V/36V/48V/60V/72V) instead of taking power from engine. It’s normally used in vehicle parking to control the temperature, humidity, flow rate to create a comfortable environment for drivers.

 

Parking air conditioner is widely used for trucks, construction machinery, campers, motorhomes, and other confined spaces. Compared with traditional vehicle air conditioners, parking air conditioners do not need to rely on vehicle engine power, which can save fuel and reduce environmental pollution.

 

Parking air conditioners are mainly for single-cooling, constituted of condenser, evaporator, electronic control system, compressor, fan and piping and others parts. For rooftop air conditioners, refrigerant HFC134a/R410A is prefilled in the air conditioning system. For split parking air conditioners, prefilled and un-prefilled types are for option.

 

Parking air conditioners are divided into rooftop air conditioners, split/backpacks air conditioners, and hidden and parallel air conditioning systems. While rooftop air conditioners require cutting the ceiling, for customers who cannot accept this situation, clients prefer split air conditioners.

 

To avoid vehicle not starting due to low battery power, all parking air conditioners are equipped with low-voltage/high-voltage protection, current overload protection and other protection functions. If there is any problem with the air conditioning system, the corresponding error code will show on the screen. According to the error code, the error code explanation and solution will be provided in the manual, which makes air conditioner repairment easier. The error code definitions for each model are different, so clients need to refer to different instructions.

12V 24V RV Tractor Air Conditioner DR1 is an upgrade type with double condenser fans, launched in 2024. It's with sine wave scroll compressor, double size aluminum condenser and copper evaporator, designed for heavy duty truck cabins and motorhomes. It's with 180° adjustable from front to rear, from left to right. Air filter and LED lights are equipped on it. It can be filled either HFC134a or 410A refrigerant.

12V 24V RV Tractor Air Conditioner DR1 is our latest model, fitting for tractor, truck, motorhome, caravan, RV cabins. Two strong outdoor fans provides much more air flow, making the heat release faster. Double size condenser holds more refrigerant R134a in the system, making the circulation in shorter time and better cooling performance. Copper evaporator is reliable as before, keeping longer service time and better cooling. Air filter is added in this AC system, and it's easy for customers to clean it.

3. Notes for using parking air conditioners

 

In using parking air conditioner, please follow the instructions as below:

 

To set the air-conditioning temperature within a suitable range. Low temperature not only easily causes physical discomfort, but also increases energy consumption.

 

To choose proper operation mode: Parking air conditioners are with eco mode, sleep mode and strong mode. Clients can choose the appropriate mode according to their needs.

 

4. Error codes definition, faults, and solutions

 

Error code flash on internal machine:

While using the air conditioner, if the following codes display on the screen, they may indicate relevant faults of the machine. Please make the following operations:

Stop the air conditioner and make it power off. After ten minutes, power on and start it. If the code is still there , stop the machine and power it off，and then contact the repair center. (If the code disappears, you can continue to use it)

E01--Voltage is too low - Please charge the battery

E02--Evaporation box fan’s power circulation is open--Please check the fan’s plug or replace the fan

H22-- Air inlet sensor failure indicates that the mode can be changed after returning to normal

H23--Out inlet sensor failure indicates that the mode can be changed after returning to normal

E04--Pipe temperature (outlet air) sensor

E05--Compressor overheat ---After the compressor cools down，automatically resume working

E06 --Condensing fan open circuit 一 Check if the circuit from compressor to condenser fan is open circuited

E07--Condensation fan short circuit --- Check if circuit from compressor to condenser fan is short circuited.

E09--The brushless control board of the condensing fan fails--please replace the control board of the condenser fan

E10--Condensing fan failure -- Please replace the condensing fan motor

E11 The condensing fan is out of contact ---- Please check the compressor control board and the condenser fan wiring for damage

 

LED light flashing times indicates the compressor faults:

The LED light is located at the end of the compressor

Flash 1 time -- Standby

Flash 5 times -- Compressor case temperature is too high

- Lack of refrigerant or dirty condenser

Flash 6 times - Open circuit of cooling fan- Bad contact of electromagnetic fan plug

Flash 7 times - Short circuit of cooling fan--

Short circuit in the motor or short circuit in the connection line

Flash 9 times - Condenser fan controller failure

Flash 10 times - Condenser fan failure

Flash 11 times - Condenser fan lost contact

Note: If the according flashings of the compressor doesn’t exist in the table above, please replace the compressor control panel

 

Other Faults

In any of the following situations in using of the air conditioner, please find out a solution by following the index; if it is a fault, please contact the repair center.

The indoor unit displays fan fault	Check if the fan is correctly plugged in. Connect the fan with a separate 24V DC power source. If the fan won’t work, change it
The indoor unit displays outdoor unit fault	Check if it is short of refrigerant
	Check if the high and low voltage is within the normal range
	Check if the condenser is too dirty that heat dissipation is adversely affected.

 

5. Installation Instructions

Whole machine installation steps and precautions

Confirm the location of air-conditioning installation:

Skylight models: applicable skylight size: width ≥300 mm, length ≥580 mm

No skylight models: in the appropriate location in accordance with the minimum skylight size, width 300mm, length 580mm, cutting.

Remove the sunroof, make sure to clean the dust around the sunroof, otherwise it will affect the installation quality and lead to water leakage and other problems.

The outside flange surface of the skylight shall be pasted with a sealing strip with a pillar. The sealing strip shall be pasted close to the edge of the skylight, and the pasted surface shall be a flat surface. After the sealing adhesive tape is pasted, the inner side of the adhesive tape continuously plays a circle of waterproof adhesive, and spreads evenly; In its top also play a ring sealant

 

When the adhesive tape paste, the interface must be at the back of the air conditioning, and need to use sealant seal tightly.

Use a forklift or ladder to lift the air-conditioner to the roof and place the interior in the skylight, protecting the interior from scratching the interior panel.

Adjust the interior part so that it is in the middle position of the front and back of the skylight.

 

The ventilation grille under the condenser should be outside the sealing tape, otherwise it will leak rain. If the roof guide wing hinders the installation of the air conditioner, it is necessary to cut the guide wing to the proper position.

 

The plane of the lining is facing down, and the hex nut is fixed in the stud position and tightened with a wrench to ensure that the compression of the sealing rubber strip is in about 5mm, to prevent insufficient sealing caused by water leakage

 

The lining should be placed inside the cab, and according to the actual situation in the car, it is flat down or concave and convex down;

The preload force of the four studs should be consistent to avoid the uneven force of the machine warping, resulting in water leakage;

If the length of the lining is too long, cut it. Ensure that the cutting does not affect the strength of the lining, and that the lining is not shorter than the width of the skylight.

 

 

Assembly of decorative plates: After installing the decorative plate, fix it at each stud position with 4 hex nuts, and insert 4 decorative screw covers into the four stud holes of the decorative plate

Connect the power cord, take out the power cord in the accessory bag and connect it directly with the special plug in the external unit of the air conditioner, according to the vehicle battery position set, reasonably arrange the direction of the power cord, and fix the power cord with a binding to prevent vibration and wear, the air conditioning power cable and the original car battery connection, the red line is connected to the positive electrode, the black line is connected to the negative electrode, and the fixing screw must be pressed tightly.

 

If the length of the power line is not enough, should choose more than 10 mm² power line for continuation, to tie up the joint, pay attention to waterproof.

in connection with the power line, must first connect the negative wire and then connect the positive wire, otherwise there will be electric shock.

 

 

6. How to maintain parking air conditioner?

 

Before cleaning it, make sure the air conditioner is turned off, powered off and unplugged.

 

* To clean indoor unit evaporator surface:

Wash the cleaning cloth in clean water, dry it and wipe the surface of the unit. The cloth can be dipped in the water solution of neutral cleaner.

 

* To clean the core of evaporation tank:

Remove the indoor unit case and blow off the dust on the surface with compressed air.

 

* To clean outdoor unit:

Remove the unit case and clean the condenser with compressed air. Avoid any bump against the condenser.

If you don’t use the parking air conditioner for a long time, unplug the air conditioner and wrap the outdoor unit and avoid any bump

 

* To use the parking air conditioner after long-time storage:

Clean the unit body, condenser, and evaporation unit; check if there is foreign matter at the air inlet/outlet of the indoor and outdoor unit; check if the drain pipe is clear; put batteries in the remote control; make inspection and power it on.

 

Tips:

Clean the air conditioner once every month. If there is too much dust in the working environment, increase the cleaning frequency accordingly. Please make regular cleaning to make sure it can run normally.

 

7. RFQ

 

● How many hours will the parking air conditioner work?

For scroll compressor type, sleep mode power consumption is 600W, strong mode power consumption is 800-1000W. For rotor compressor, sleep mode power consumption is 400W, strong mode power consumption is 700-800W. For example, 24V 400Ah battery, scroll compressor parking air conditioner will last 10-12 hours, and rotor compressor parking air conditioner will last 14-16 hours.

 

● Do I need to buy other parts after I receive the parking air conditioner?

It’s a whole package with all parts needed. For rooftop parking air conditioners, Freon is prefilled, so all you need to do is install and connect it to battery. For split air conditioners without Freon, all you need to do is ask a mechanic to install and fill Freon at suggested amount.
