Product Description

We provide Diameter 12.7mm and Diameter 25mm zinc selenide (ZnSe) high-precision windows, including uncoated and double-sided anti-reflection coating options. Uncoated windows for 600 nm to 16 μm, windows with AR coating on both sides for 1.65 to 3.0 μm, 2.0 to 13.0 μm, 4.5 to 7.5 μm, or 7.0 to 12.0 μm (transmission and reflection curves See Curves label). The transmission band of zinc selenide is wider than that of silicon and germanium. Zinc selenide has very low absorption in the red region of visible light, making it ideal for applications integrating a 10.6 μm carbon dioxide laser with a 633 nm helium-neon alignment laser.

Due to its wide transmission band and low absorption in the red range of the visible, zinc selenide (ZnSe) is commonly used in optical systems using CO2 lasers (operating at 10.6 μm) and inexpensive HeNe collimated lasers. Zinc selenide is transparent in the wavelength range 600 nm to 16 μm, making it ideal for infrared applications. It is also commonly used in thermal imaging systems. Unlike germanium and silicon, ZnSe can also transmit some visible light and is therefore also suitable for visible optical collimation. However, it is very soft and scratches easily. The refractive index of ZnSe at a wavelength of 10.6 μm is 2.403.

Gloves must be worn when handling optics, especially when working with zinc selenide as it is a hazardous material. For safety reasons, please follow all precautions, including wearing gloves when working with zinc selenide and washing your hands after handling.
